Your Garage Business May Become The Next Big Business

If you are running your business out of the spare room in your home, your basement or your garage, don't let your venue keep you down.
Beverly Gannon certainly didn't.
I met Gannon, president of Hawaii-based Hali'imaile General Store, a few weeks ago at the SBA's annual Awards celebration. She was named Hawaii's top small business, and she has an inspirational story. She began her catering company with $20,000 out of her garage. Her garage business has since grown into three corporations with 128 employees and total revenue of $7.13 million in 2006.
The lesson of Gannon's story: It doesn't matter when or where you start. It only matters where you are headed.
